Privacy
Scrollscript reads your screen recording on your iPhone and keeps the transcript there. Nothing is sent to us: no account, no analytics, no network access. This website is static and runs no telemetry.
The app has no server. Apple's on-device text recognition reads the frames of the recording you choose; the app works out the scrolling and merges the lines. Recordings are never uploaded, and transcripts stay in the app until you delete them. The App Store handles the purchase, so Apple's privacy policy covers that transaction.
What we collect
We collect and store the following:
- Your recordings and transcripts: The screen recording you choose is read on the phone and the copy the app works on is deleted when it finishes. The transcript (text, a title, word count and timing) is kept in the app on your iPhone until you delete it. None of it leaves the device.
Third parties
These external services receive some of your data:
- Apple App Store — distributes the app and handles the purchase
- DigitalOcean — hosts this website, so it sees the usual web request (address, page, time) when you visit
Your rights
There is no account and nothing held about you to export. Everything the app keeps is on your iPhone: delete a transcript in the app, or delete the app, and it is gone.
